2008 Other Meetings This years Annual Dinner will be on the 9th February 2008, at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, 28 Queen Street, Edinburgh. This is an opportunity for members and their guests to dress up and splash out on a very special evening of fantastic food and wine in elegant surroundings. The Queen Street venue is the newest of the Scotch Malt Whisky Societies venues, it is a beautifully restored Georgian Town House on one of the capitals main thoroughfares with ornate, elegant and stylish rooms ranging over three floors reached by a sweeping stairway. Chef James Freeman carefully sources seasonal produce to produce exceptional Scottish cuisine with a contemporary French influence. Each of the five courses will be accompanied by carefully selected and matched wines. This is not to be missed!!!!
A Spring weekend of indulgence for our members and guests. This is a chance for us to get away from it all and concentrate on the finer things in life such as fantastic food, excellent wine and good company for the whole weekend. This years Wine Weekend is from the 29th February to 2nd March 2008. It will be held at the Murraypark Hotel in Crieff, with access to the facilities at Crieff Hydro. Dinner will be at the Murraypark hotel on the Friday night and Saturday night we will be at the De’il’s Cauldron in Comrie. There is no theme for Friday night but the theme for Saturday morning's tasting shall be "Wines from Bordeaux". The four course dinner on Saturday night will progress this theme to involve matching food with Bordeaux wines. Cost: Hotel - £120 (Per Person sharing), £149 (Single Occupancy) Saturday Dinner - £50 Per Person
Our
annual summer lunch is an informal affair where the theme is to bring
your own bottle, or two. (2008 Dates and venue to be confirmed shortly).
